It's pretty obvious by now that I am a big online shopping fanatic! You can compare prices and shop for deals all from the comfort of your own home, saving time and money. Of course, online security is a valid concern for many and so I want to share some simple tips.

These simple steps help to keep me and my accounts protected. However, there is a greater threat that too many people fall victim to and that is "phishing". Over that last few years these crooks have become more and more sophisticated with their scams, however they all follow a similar pattern. Basically a fake emails is sent from you bank or PayPal account telling you to click and enter your account information, including password - and voila - they have access to your account! Remember, a real bank would be very unlikely to do this and if in doubt call the bank and ask - it's always better to be safe than sorry.

It's the weekend!

The weekend is here and time to relax and enjoy some personal time! The work week has been crazy and I am more than happy to get some rest. I need to buy a new refrigerator this weekend and will of course be shopping online for a bargain shopping deal! My place is small but I love food so I will get something that can keep all my goodies at hand and of course a beer or ten handy! Nothing like a beer , some snack and a good movie to enjoy on the sofa.

A Crazy Day at Work!

What a day - work was like a zoo today and I am more than happy to be home! I took a bath, ate dinner and now plan to do one of my favorite things - Bargain Shopping online. Shopping Trip for Cables

I recently purchased a flat screen 32" TV and needed to get the cables to hook it up to my Blu-Ray player, so I stopped by the local electronics store. I brought the cables and put my cell phone down on the counter while I got my credit card out of my wallet. The clerk saw my phone and told me that they were selling a new model for $50. I asked if it came with a contract and he replied yes and so I declined the offer. He then went on to tell me how "old" my phone was and how it has been replaced by a newer, better model - my phone was new last February - it's crazy! Phones are now getting outdated quicker than computers.



At least I have my new TV and Blue-Ray player to keep me happy - until something else comes along, I guess!

Saturdays!

I love Saturdays! It's a great day to get all the chores out of the way and then do as I please! It wasn't a day to lie on the beach but a great day to go out walking; which is exactly what I did - it felt great to be out in the fresh air with a warm gentle breeze, as I strolled along the beach front. Now I' home and having done some exercise, I don't feel any diet gilt as I get ready to eat a big chicken pot pie - my favorite!



I then intend to relax in front of the TV with a glass of red wine. I will get round to exercising more and dieting next week! Until tomorrow - have fun and stay safe!

The weekend is here!

Jejejeje! The week-end is here and I am so happy to be home. Whether you plan to go to the movies, out dining, visiting family and friends or to just stay at home a relax the weekend was made to enjoy. Shopping Headaches

I know that a certain store has a catchphrase of "where shopping is a pleasure" but I have to admit I never seem to enjoy the chore of shopping - yesterday was no exception - I had to take a trip to the mall and after two hours in traffic I finally arrived. I had to park a good distance from the entrance and then walked from store to store looking for a bargain - needless to say after two hours I left and came home tired and empty handed. So much for a trip out - that's the reason I shop online, I enjoy the convenience and always seem to find a good deal. Of course it's always nice to receive a package - who doesn't like to get stuff delivered to them!

Anyway, I think that will be the last of my trips to the mall and I'll stay shopping online from the comfort of my home and close to a well stocked fridge!

Healthy Eating

Well the holidays are over and most have us have probably a few pounds to lose here and there and I am no exception! I have my annual physical tomorrow and no doubt my cholesterol will be high again! So it's time to start looking at the diet and shopping for healthy snacks. The good news is that there are a lot of tasty treats to enjoy without the guilt - so I can still satisfy my sweet tooth and try to keep the pounds off!

This is the ideal time of year to start a walking program too, before the weather gets too hot - so I am off for a brisk walk along the beach before chilling in front of the TV.

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr Day

Well happy Martin Luther King, Jr Day - I hope it was a good one! I had to work, so the only advantage for me was less traffic on the road (or so I thought until my slow drive home!).
Well, yesterday I cooked up a big pot of Bolognaise Sauce, which  for some reason always tastes better the day after it was made, so I am going to have a big dinner and then chill in front of the TV.

I went to the pet store on the way home to pick up a new filter for my aquarium and then came home and changed the aquarium water - a pretty messy job but at least the water looks clearer now.

Planning to go to Canada Fest in Hollywood at the weekend, which should be fun if the weather is good.

Weekend At Home

Well what a great day it is outside, the sun is shining there is a nice breeze to keep us cool! I just finished my weekly grocery shopping and plan to cook up a feast tonight and watch a movie - I just received "I Can Do Bad All By Myself" from Netflix and can't wait to see it -I hear it's a great movie! I'll sit and watch it with some of my favorite snacks.

Tomorrow I'll go to church and then maybe take a walk on the beach if the weather is still good. I have to work next weekend and so I aim to relax and eat as much as I can this weekend.

I will be traveling to Grand Bahama again soon on Discovery - they are in dry dock right now, but when the ship returns to service on Jan 28th, they will have a later departure time from Ft Lauderale and the cruise will be all-inclusive - should be interesting to see how it works out.

Favorite Foods!

While at work today one of my coworkers (from Jamaica) cooked up the best chicken curry - one of my favorite foods! It smelled soooo good - thankfully she made enough to share and I felt no shame in asking for a small portion. Coming originally from England, good curry is one of the foods I miss, so this was a real treat.

This has put me in to a cooking mood so I will need to shop for groceries  tomorrow in order to get a good stock, in order to cook up some good home cooked treats this coming weekend. And to top it off, that terrible cold weather has moved away and we are back into the 70+ degrees temperatures.

So TGIF tomorrow and roll on weekend!

Easy Meals

Well, after a hard day at work it's time to put my feet up an relax in front of the TV - American Idol is on and I really don't feel in the mood to cook! Time for an easy quick meal I think. Well, I just got home from work and feel too lazy too start cooking up a dinner! The weather is warming up, slightly and I am travelling to the Bahamas tomorrow. I have a well stocked cupboard with a lot of chips and cookies so I think I'll put on a movie and pig-out! Brrrrrrrrrr - so much for the warm spell - the last two days have been soooo cold here in Florida and the Bahamas.
